RIOT police fired tear gas and r ubber bullets yesterday when violence erupted after a judge cleared a white ex-cop of murdering a black man.

Peaceful protests were planned after the verdict on Jason Stockley, 36, who shot suspected drug dealer Anthony Lamar Smith, 24, five times after a car chase.

Around 600 Black Lives Matter marchers chanted “Hey hey! Ho ho! These killer cops have got to go!”

But police moved in later after bricks were thrown at them and windows smashed in St Louis, Missouri.

Ten lawmen were hurt and 23 people held.

Stockley, who quit and moved to Texas after the 2011 killing, waived his right to a jury trial and instead asked a judge to rule.

Video from his squad car dashcam caught Stockley saying “Gonna kill this motherf*** er, don’t you know it,” during the chase.

Anthony’s family was awarded £700,000 by the city for wrongful death.

U2 had to call off its gig in St. Louis last night as police had their hands full dealing with the protests. PAGEBOY Blake Cole, six, was raced to Primark in a Bentley for new trousers just before a wedding because hired ones were 6in short.
