Boobs ops cash blow
HUNDREDS of victims of a breast implant scandal are still waiting for compensation – five years on.
As many as 300 women who had the dangerous PIP implants are thought to be awaiting £2,660 payouts.
German company TUV Rheinland pledged to pay the cash in January following a long trial after the scandal was exposed in 2012.
At least 47,000 women had implants, containing industrial grade chemicals.
“Some have had compensation but 300 of us haven’t,” said mum Sarah Dutson, 34, of Sunderland.
She has joined others in a Facebook group.
“Some in the group had ruptured breasts because of the implants and their lives were in danger,” she said.
TUV Rheinland was not available for comment.
