WOMEN who have had the HPV vaccination may only need three cervical cancer tests in their lifetime, studies suggest.

Normally 12 tests are given but they may only be needed at 30, 40 and 55.

HPV may cause up to 99 per cent of cervical cancers – but cases have fallen since a vaccine was introduced for 11 to 13-year-olds in 2008.
