Eight die in snow blast
AT least eight climbers died when a snowstorm wrecked their base camp on a rarely scaled Himalayan peak.
A five-strong South Korean team and four Nepali guides were at 23,599ft Mount Gurja in western Nepal when the storm struck.
Eight bodies were seen from a rescue helicopter yesterday and the ninth climber is feared dead.
“The camp was completely destroyed,” said Myagdi district official Liladhar Adhikari.
