SI­MON Cow­ell has pledged £50,000 to help a boy of four have treat­ment in the US for a rare form of child­hood leukaemia.

The X Fac­tor mogul is also urg­ing his fans to give to Zac Oliver for ther­apy un­avail­able on the NHS.

The fam­ily of Zac, of Brose­ley, Shrops, need to raise £500,000 for CAR-T ther­apy, which changes im­mune cells, in Philadel­phia.

Cow­ell’s gift is ex­pected to lift the fig­ure raised to more than £400,000.

The mu­sic mogul’s do­na­tion came ahead of to­day’s Zacfest, a char­ity fundraiser at Telford Town Park, for the lit­tle lad with near hap­loid leukaemia.

Zac’s mum Han­nah Oliver-wil­lets, said: “Thank you to Si­mon Cow­ell for do­ing such an amaz­ing job at sup­port­ing our cause.”
