Finding hope in tragic loss
I RECENTLY met Clare and Rob Davies and daughters Eva, eight, and Lyla, six months. They have five other children too – Emma, Faith, Bobby, Isla and Georgie. All stillborn, but not forgotten. “People told us we should stop trying,” Clare told me. “But the need to fill my empty arms was overwhelming.” Lyla’s arrival finally filled that void – thanks to Tommy’s inspirational Stillbirth Research Centre and Rainbow Clinic in Manchester. I visited, ahead of Baby Loss Awareness week, and saw how staff help families. And I urge you to back the charity any way you can – www.tommy’s.org.
