A MAN and a teenager tied themselves together with rope before jumping to their deaths from a bridge, an inquest heard.

The bodies of Richard Hollis, 37, and Nathan Orritt, 18, were found on a beach in February.

Both friends, described as unemployed and of no fixed address, had drowned. They were identified by their fingerprints.

Pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers said they probably plunged from Menai suspension bridge, close to where they were washed up on Anglesey, North Wales.

They were tied together with ropes, he added.

Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said this was “very unusual” and recorded a verdict of suicide.

After the inquest in Caernarfon, Nathan’s dad Ian Orritt, of Blackpool, said: “The family are still feeling it.

“There are little things we will never know.”

SEAL pup Helena – found covered in fish hooks – was released at Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, after surgery to remove an eye.
