Tubs, beds and hanging baskets

The People's Friend Special - - GARDENING -

These may all get planted up with wallflowers, polyanthus, winter pansies, myosotis or daisies, but they will be enhanced with the addition of some bulbs.

Crocuses are best with hanging baskets of pansies, and use dwarf early tulips with polyanthus, daisies and myosotis. Wallflowers are taller, so use tall tulips such as Darwin Hybrids, single early tulips or Fosterianas such as Red Emperor or the white scented Purissima.

I have grown a wide range of so-called scented tulips, and the only one that I could detect any fragrance on was Purissima, and then only occasionally.
