Spring has fi­nally ar­rived, and there is no bet­ter time to get into the gar­den. In fact, a re­cent study shows gar­den­ing is the best pos­si­ble ex­er­cise for women as they age.

You don’t have to ex­haust your­self to see the ben­e­fits – two 50-minute ses­sions of pot­ting plants and wa­ter­ing flow­ers were found to be enough to im­prove dex­ter­ity and brain func­tion dra­mat­i­cally.

Af­ter just seven weeks, the par­tic­i­pants in the study, con­ducted by the Amer­i­can Society for Hor­ti­cul­tural Sci­ence, had lost weight around their mid­dles, too.
