This country should be supporting itself with fresh produce, not getting it shipped in from abroad.
I bought cut and come again lettuce seeds, a ¼ size tray has lasted from October and I’ve just sown more seeds. Not bad for £2.29.
Still too cold for salads. I much prefer soup. We still have some of our own cut/come again lettuce!
There’s plenty of good root veg, perfect for winter soups and stews. We ate some excellent lettuce last summer grown in outdoor pots. Raw Savoy or white cabbage makes a great salad base.
There’s plenty of winter veg around. Why can’t we support our own farmers?
Plenty of Lincolnshire veg around, so buy British that’s in season.
There is plenty of choice and we can easily pick alternative veggies.
