MEET THE HORSES
The Raft horses are in need of a safe and caring home due to old age, owners moving, retirement or other circumstances. The emphasis is on mutual trust and understanding. No riding takes place.
“We feel they have already given much in terms of support to people; this is now an opportunity for us to reflect and learn from that giving, understanding the process of gaining trust with empathy and compassion and enjoying and having fun in their company.”
Irish Eyes is a former Irish sports horse who developed a bone cyst and went lame every time she was brought back into work. But Sally knew she had exactly the temperament needed for the Horse Raft and saved her from being put down.
Ears, a former Endurance horse whose owner could no longer keep her, came to Sally from a rescue charity.
