I read Mrs B.M.T.’S let­ter about the NHS and can­celled ap­point­ments with in­ter­est.

I work in out­pa­tients in the NHS, and I have to agree with her that missed ap­point­ments, though costly, are not al­ways the fault of the pa­tient.

Ap­point­ment let­ters are some­times not re­ceived in the post. I have just missed an ap­point­ment in an­other hos­pi­tal my­self be­cause I didn’t re­ceive the ap­point­ment let­ter in time. I can see the ar­gu­ment from both sides now!
