Special Bedding

The People's Friend - - Health -

People with severe eczema and dermatitis can find the rough texture of some bed linen irritates their condition, and synthetic fibres can cause overheating and excessive itchiness. The Dermatherapy bedding range by Espere Health has been specially woven to mimic silk, with gaps between the fibres to allow heat to escape and minimise irritation.

In the US, the bedding range is classed as a “medical” aid, and a 2008 study (in the journal “Pediatric Dermatology”) reported a reduction in soreness and itching in patients with dermatitis. It might also help reduce pressure sores. The Dermatherapy range starts from £19.95 for a pillow-case from esperehealth.co.uk.
