Learn about jus­tice at city event

PEO­PLE can learn more about the crim­i­nal jus­tice sys­tem at an event in the city on Satur­day.

The Jus­tice Jour­ney event, at Kings­Gate Con­fer­ence Cen­tre in Sta­plee Way, Parn­well, will run from 9.30am to 2pm.

Or­gan­ised by the Safer­Peter­bor­ough part­ner­ship, the event will of­fer in­for­ma­tion about how the part­ner­ship is fo­cus­ing on anti-so­cial be­hav­iour and sup­port­ing vic­tims, as well as let­ting peo­ple know about what hap­pens to of­fend­ers when they en­ter the crim­i­nal jus­tice sys­tem and what pun­ish­ments are avail­able to the courts.

Michelle Ber­nasconi, of the Vic­tims Ad­vi­sory Panel, will launch the event by de­tail­ing her per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ences of be­ing a vic­tim of an­ti­so­cial be­hav­iour.

Peo­ple will be able to ask ques­tions of po­lice of­fi­cers, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the Crown Pros­e­cu­tion Ser­vice, mag­is­trates and of­fi­cer from the pro­ba­tion ser­vice.
