Play sea­son starts with Shake­speare

THE sum­mer sea­son of plays by the Stam­ford Shake­speare Com­pany (SSC) is to get un­der way on Mon­day.

The highly-re­puted the­atre group will be putting on three plays through­out the sum­mer in the beau­ti­ful sur­round­ings of the grounds of To­lethorpe Hall, in Lit­tle Caster­ton, near Stam­ford.

The two plays by the bard which will be per­formed this sum­mer are Othello and the ro­man­tic tale, Much Ado About Noth­ing.

As is tra­di­tional for the SSC, they will also be putting on a non-Shake­speare per­for­mance in the form of Dad’s Army, which will fea­ture three clas­sic episodes spe­cially adapted for the stage.
