THE council’s Site Allocations Documents identify preferred sites for development in Peterborough after studies and consultations between 200 and 2009.
It sets out proposals for 24,840 new homes, 14 permanent traveller pitches and 10 transit pitches.
It includes the massive urban extension at Great Haddon, south of Hampton, earmarked for 5,300 new homes and a district shopping centre.
Another site at Norwood, east of Paston, is earmarked for 2,300 new homes.
Controversial site allocations in the document includes space for 305 homes near Eye.
Some sites in the document have already been committed for development, including 3,563 homes
in Hampton, 1,212 in Paston Reserve and 1,525 in Stanground South.
