Meet this week’s company car driver
Q: City MP Stewart Jackson has urged city planners to resurrect the £450 million North Westgate development. Do you think they will heed his words? A: It is hard to judge how the local planners may react. However, from a personal point of view, it would seem like an excellent initiative. I am sure the town would benefit from the regeneration and the commercial impact of such a project. Q: Do you welcome the Government’s decision to end Home Information Packs (HIPs)? A: We welcome the Government’s decision to end the Home Information Packs. This seemed like a complete waste of money that added no value to the process whatsoever. On a much sadder note, my daughter only three weeks ago paid her fee to enable her to sell her property only to find that it is no longer required. How many others are out there who have been affected by this change and should they get a Q: Do you think the mayor will be successful in his bid to attract new jobs to Peterborough? A: This all depends on how committed he is to the process. It will take some vision, energy and tenacity. I sincerely hope he has these qualities and also the timescale needed to see the results. Q: Are you in favour of the electoral reform plans recently outlined in the Queens’ speech? A: Personally I am totally disillusioned with the political scene at the moment. However, maybe the electoral reform will provide a fairer and more balanced system. It will be interesting to see if these changes are ever implemented.
