Res­i­dents help clean up streets

KIND-HEARTED res­i­dents in Wer­ring­ton gave up their time to tidy up the area.

Last Fri­day, 15 com­mu­nity-minded peo­ple donned hi-vis­i­bil­ity vests and grabbed lit­ter pick­ers to pick up rub­bish in the area as part of the city-wide Big Tidy Up.

They man­aged to re­move empty cans, crisp pack­ets and other dumped refuse from around the Wer­ring­ton Cen­tre and Skaters Way, af­ter meet­ing at Mor­land Court at 10am.

The event had been or­gan­ised by Peter­bor­ough Coun­cil for Vol­un­tary Ser­vice (PCVS) and saw lit­ter picks across the whole of the city tak­ing place last week af­ter vol­un­teers flocked to sign up.
