Fam­ily fun for half-term at schools and chil­dren cen­tre

FAM­I­LIES are be­ing urged to play and learn to­gether at a host of events to mark Na­tional Fam­ily Week.

The events, which range from sing­ing and drama to sports and jew­ellery-mak­ing, take place dur­ing the May half-term school hol­i­days which be­gan yes­ter­day and will now run un­til Sun­day.

Fam­ily play-time ses­sions are on of­fer at the Caver­st­ede Early Years Cen­tre, in Caver­st­ede Road, Wal­ton, Peter­bor­ough on June 3 from 2pm to 4pm and on June 4 from 9.30am to 11.30am.

A fam­ily sports ses­sion will take place at the same venue on June 3 from 10am to 11am.

There is also a chance to learn how to take great dig­i­tal pho­to­graphs at Gun­thorpe Pri­mary School, in Hall­fields Lane, Gun­thorpe, Peter­bor­ough on June 1 as well as the op­por­tu­nity to do a free pho­tog­ra­phy course at The Voy­ager School, in Mountsteven Av­enue, Wal­ton, Peter­bor­ough on June 3 be­tween 10am and 2pm.

Fam­i­lies can also sing, dance and act their way through the US mu­si­cal com­edy Glee at a work­shop be­ing held at The Voy­ager School on June 4 from 10am to 12noon. This ses­sion costs £2 per per­son.

Crafty young­sters can also learn how to make jew­ellery at a cre­ative work­shop at Wal­ton Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, in Mountsteven Av­enue, Wal­ton, Peter­bor­ough on June 2 be­tween 10am and 12noon. This is aimed at fam­i­lies with chil­dren aged over seven years old and the work­shop costs £3 per fam­ily mem­ber.
