Man in court af­ter stab­bing in quiet vil­lage

A MAN was stabbed through the chest in an at­tack in a quiet vil­lage near Peter­bor­ough.

A sec­ond man was slashed across the chest dur­ing the in­ci­dent in Sta­tion Road, Nass­ing­ton, at about 10.45pm on May 30.

The man who was stabbed in the chest was rushed to Peter­bor­ough District Hos­pi­tal with a punc­tured lung.

He is now in what is de­scribed as a se­ri­ous but sta­ble con­di­tion in hos­pi­tal.

One man has been ar­rested in con­nec­tion with the al­leged at­tack.

He was later charged by po­lice of sus­pi­cion of wound­ing with in­tent to com­mit griev­ous bod­ily harm and ap­peared be­fore Northamp­ton Mag­is­trates’ Court yes­ter­day.

Of­fi­cers also re­cov­ered the knife which they be­lieve had been used dur­ing the at­tack.
