Family eco day at school

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

PUPILS at a city school put down their books for a day and spent time working on eco-projects.

Farcet Primary School youngsters joined forces with the Family Learning Organisation for Make a Difference Day, which encourages families to work together on projects to develop the school grounds.

The event was attended by parents and grandparents, who helped pupils create willow structures with willowweaving experts.

The structures form part of an ecological area in the school grounds known as the ‘Secret Garden.’ The children also put in new plants, sketched with charcoal and crafted dreamcatchers.

Assistant headteacher Nicky Boyle said: “We’re very pleased with the huge support received and the number of families that attended.”
