Am­bu­lance trust has new di­rec­tor

EAST of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice has a new di­rec­tor.

Colin Wood­cock has been ap­pointed non-ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the board of the East of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice NHS Trust, which cov­ers Peter­bor­ough.

Mr Wood­cock (43), from Nor­wich, has a proven track record in in­no­va­tion and mar­ket­ing and has served at di­rec­tor level within com­pa­nies such as Capita and Pru­den­tial UK.

He said: “The East of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice al­ready has earned it­self a fan­tas­tic rep­u­ta­tion and I’m hop­ing to help build upon that as the trust con­tin­ues to de­velop in new ways.

“There is a lot to learn. I’m par­tic­u­larly look­ing for­ward to go­ing out with an am­bu­lance crew to find out what it’s re­ally like work­ing out on the roads and also to get ideas from them on how we can con­tinue to im­prove our ser­vices to the pub­lic.”

The East of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice NHS Trust was es­tab­lished on July 1, 2006.

It pro­vides am­bu­lance and as­so­ci­ated trans­port ser­vices as well as com­mu­nity health ser­vices across six coun­ties: Bed­ford­shire, Cam­bridgeshire, Es­sex, Hert­ford­shire, Nor­folk and Suf­folk.
