Uff­in­g­ton young­ster set to train with Dal­laglio

A SCHOOL­BOY from Uff­in­g­ton has won a trip to Twick­en­ham to be coached by for­mer Eng­land rugby union cap­tain Lawrence Dal­laglio.

Nine year-old Char­lie Pen­roseToms im­pressed se­lec­tors at a re­cent Sa­cla’ rugby fes­ti­val at Holt, Nor­folk. He is one of hun­dreds of chil­dren aged be­tween six and 18 who will be put through their paces by Dal­laglio this Satur­day.

Char­lie (pic­tured right) at­tends Uff­in­g­ton Church of Eng­land Pri­mary School and plays his rugby for Stam­ford. He said: “I’m re­ally look­ing for­ward to meet­ing Lawrence Dal­laglio, and play­ing at Twick­en­ham will be amaz­ing. It’s great to have this op­por­tu­nity and hope­fully it will in­spire me to do even bet­ter in the fu­ture.”

Sa­cla’, the Ital­ian pesto pi­o­neers, re­cently an­nounced a ground break­ing part­ner­ship with the Rugby Foot­ball Union to sup­port over 100 grass roots fes­ti­vals in the UK.
