Nurses join heart health cam­paign

A TEAM of car­diac nurses at Peter­bor­ough District Hos­pi­tal are sup­port­ing the Ar­rhyth­mia Al­liance’s ‘Know Your Pulse’ cam­paign to raise aware­ness of the signs and symp­toms of an ir­reg­u­lar heart­beat.

The team will be dis­play­ing in­for­ma­tion and an­swer­ing ques­tions at PDH, on Thorpe Road, on June 7 and, on June 8, at Stam­ford Hos­pi­tal.

They are sup­port­ing the cam­paign to make peo­ple aware of car­diac ar­rhyth­mia, ab­nor­mal elec­tri­cal ac­tiv­ity in the heart which af­fects its beat. They can be fa­tal if un­di­ag­nosed.

More than two mil­lion peo­ple in the UK have an ar­rhyth­mia and it af­fects peo­ple of any age.
