Firm in line for ‘green’ accolade
A HUNTINGDON manufacturing firm has been shortlisted in the finals of the regional Business in the Community Carbon Positive Awards.
GPS PE Pipe Systems is one of the several East Anglian businesses vying for the award, which will be announced later this month at a ceremony at Hengrave Hall in Bury St. Edmunds.
The annual awards, run in association with the Financial Times, recognises those companies who strive to reduce their carbon footprint.
To qualify for the final, GPS has demonstrated impressive results from its efforts to reduce energy usage - cutting electric use by a fifth last year - plus reducing waste consumption and improve recycling.
