Shop worker as­sault

A SHOP worker was as­saulted by a man sus­pected of shoplift­ing.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter the man as­saulted the woman out­side the Su­per­drug store in Broad Street, March.

It hap­pened at around 5pm on May 25, when a mem­ber of staff stopped the man out­side the store.

She put her arm on him and asked him to go with her back in­side the store.

The man re­fused and hit her caus­ing mi­nor in­juries be­fore he ran off along Broad Street.

He is de­scribed as white, in his mid-thir­ties, with a mus­cu­lar build and a shaven head. He was wear­ing a dirty white or green t-shirt with an em­blem on the front, dark jog­ging bot­toms and scruffy white train­ers at the time of the as­sault.
