Bid to raise funds for Hampton based charity
A HAMPTON based charity will give residents the chance to get hold of exclusive concert tickets, jewellery and music merchandise as part of an auction.
Deafblind UK, based in Cygnet Park, Hampton, Peterborough, will hold the auction via eBay during Deafblind Awareness Week between June 21 and 27.
Among the lots up for grabs are four tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil at Wembley Arena next month, a signed Northampton Saints rugby shirt and a pair of tickets to see JLS perform at the Peterborough Embankment on July 18.
There are also a selection of CDs and DVDs from acts including Madonna and Linkin Park, as well as specially designed pieces of jewellery on offer.
The charity is also running a World Cup sweepstake and has invited businesses and organisations from across the city to get involved, with the winner receiving a life-size replica of the World Cup trophy.
Deafblind UK’s chief executive Jeff Skipp will preside over the draw on June 9.
At random, 32 balls will be drawn, each representing a country taking part in this year’s tournament, which in turn will be allocated to companies and organisations.
The money raised will help the charity offer support and assistance for people with sight and hearing problems across the city and throughout the rest of the country.
