The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Neighbourhood News -

ORGANISERS are hoping that this year’s Folksworth Summer Fete and Scarecrow Fest will be the best yet.

The events are taking place throughout this weekend in the village near Peterborough.

On Saturday from 12noon to 1pm, the fun will start with the official opening of the Folksworth Fun Park, the village’s new children’s play area, in Townsend Way.

The summer fete, featuring stalls and a beer festival, will kick off in earnest from 1pm at the back of the Fox Inn, in Manor Road.

And fromThe Wizard of Oz to Little Miss Muffet, the entries to last year’s Scarecrow Fest were imaginative and inventive and organisers hope this year’s will match them.

The Scarecrow Fest will start on Saturday but all scarecrows will go on display from 10am to 4pm on Sunday all over the village.

One of the organisers of the event said: “Last year we had over 20 scarecrows and we’re hoping for many more this year.

“All this along with the village fete and beer festival should be a good day for all who come along.”

success: Dorothy, Strawman, Tinman and the Lion on the Yellow Brick Road at last year’s successful Folksworth Summer Festival and Scarecrow Fest.
