Drink driver jailed af­ter third of­fence

A MAN has been jailed for 12 weeks af­ter be­ing caught drink driv­ing for the third time in five years.

Ar­turas Sa­muilis, of Fen­gate, Peter­bor­ough, reg­is­tered 91 mi­cro­grammes of al­co­hol per 100 millil­itres of breath when pulled over in Bishop’s Road, Peter­bor­ough at 2.30am on Wed­nes­day. Pros­e­cu­tor Giles Beau­mont said Sa­muilis was con­victed of drink driv­ing in 2005 and 2008 and was serv­ing a driv­ing ban when he com­mit­ted his lat­est of­fence.

Yes­ter­day at Peter­bor­ough Mag­is­trates’ Court he was given 12 weeks in jail for drink driv­ing and driv­ing while dis­qual­i­fied, to run con­cur­rently, plus a four year driv­ing ban.
