RE: Cathedral Square fountains: Water difference a spray makes, ET, June 2

Well its seems they were a boon for the children today who seemed to enjoy playing in the fountains on a hot day, but really while it’s nice to see I don’t think that was the intention. Yes there were a lot of people gathered round, but I think it was just initial interest and this will pass. I still don’t see the train of logic that businesses will think “oh look fountains let’s bring our business here, I personally would not and it would not hold any favour in my decision. And yes they may be beneficial in the summer months (what little we do get) but what about the rest of the year? Will people be sat enjoying the fountains and free Wi-Fi in the cold weather? I doubt it and it has to be said it’s got to be the most expensive seating area.
