Get on your bike to en­joy the coun­try­side

RES­I­DENTS are be­ing urged to get on their bikes and into the open air as part of the city’s Green Fes­ti­val.

Peter­bor­ough City Coun­cil’s Trav­el­choice team is run­ning the last of its cy­cling events as part of the PECT or­gan­ised fes­ti­val to­day

Start­ing out­side Sains­bury’s at the Bret­ton Cen­tre at 6.30pm, this leisurely 13-mile cir­cu­lar route, known as the Nass­aburgh Trail, takes in some of western Peter­bor­ough’s most scenic coun­try­side and pic­turesque ru­ral vil­lages in­clud­ing Cas­tor, Ailsworth and Marholm.

The route is pre­dom­i­nantly on coun­try roads, but some ne­go­ti­a­tion of busier roads is re­quired. It is rec­om­mended that only con­fi­dent cy­clists take part.

The ride will be led by Sus­trans Rangers and Trav­el­choice staff, with a bar­be­cue and other re­fresh­ments planned at Wil­low Brook Farm which is about half-way.
