WELSH rockers the Manic Street Preachers are on their way to Cambridge.

It has been announced that the band will play the Corn Exchange as part of a tour to coincide with the release of their 10th studio album, Postcards From A Young Man.

They say the gigs will be their most extensive UK tour ever, with British Sea Power as the support act.

The Manics will play the Corn Exchange on November 1 in what is another major coup for the city venue, which continues to attract big-name performers.

Promoters say the Everything Must Go band’s new album, to be released in September, will be a return to their classic rock sound of the 1990s.

Tickets, priced £27.50, are on sale from 9am today. They are available from the Corn Exchange box office on 01223 357851 or www.seetickets.com
