Fratelli will fold if they don’t find a new manager soon

LEADING Sunday morning side Fratelli have launched a last-ditch appeal for a new manager.

The back-to-back Hunts Sunday Cup kings face folding if they cannot find a successor to Johnny Byrne who stepped down from the hot-seat at the end of last season due to other commitments.

Fratelli have made rapid progress since their formation in 2000/01, rising up the Peterborough Sunday Morning League ladder to eventually become serious title contenders last season.

They led the table for much of the campaign before being hit by a series of injuries and eventually finished third.

Fratelli skipper Micky Ambrosio said: “We had someone in mind who we thought would step up, but that hasn’t worked out.

“We still have the core of the players and there are three or four other lads interested in joining us.

“We are gagging to carry on playing but we desperately need a manager to take charge. We are doing all we can to find that guy.”

Peterborough Sunday Morning League chiefs have given Fratelli a 10day deadline to find a new boss.

Chairman Fred Johnson said: “We are always disappointed to lose any team and it would be a very big blow to see such a talented, well-run and well-organised club as Fratelli fold.

“We will give them as much time as we can to sort out their situation.”

Anyone interested in becoming Fratelli manager should contact Micky Ambrosio on 01733 302304.
