POWERLEAGUE are hoping to cash in on World Cup mania by launching two new football programmes from their city headquarters.

Based at Stanground College, Powerleague are launching their ‘Football Football’ and ‘Football Replay’ initiatives on June 12 and 13, at the same time as the World Cup kicks off in South Africa.

The first of the new schemes, Football Football, will be launched on June 12 for children aged between five and 12 who want to get involved in the game in a relaxed, non-competitive environment.

All matches will be played in a five-a-side format with a maximum of 10 youngsters to every FA qualified coach.

Football Replay on the other hand is being pitched at players over the age of 35, who want to get back to football but might struggle to find a game.

Rather than organised teams, players can just turn up to the Peterborough Road centre where they will be split into teams for games with other like-minded veterans.

Sessions will be held every Sunday, starting on June 13 at 2pm.

For more information on both these schemes call Ruth Van Rensburg on 01733 893666 or visit peterborough@powerleague.
