Coach­ing cour­ses for young­sters

Ten­niS in Peter­bor­ough is be­ing given a push over the next few weeks with some great value coach­ing, just in time for Wim­ble­don.

Vi­vac­ity, Peter­bor­ough’s Cul­ture and Leisure Trust, is giv­ing chil­dren a chance to try ten­nis for the first time and an op­por­tu­nity for those that al­ready play to im­prove and de­velop their skills.

Vi­vac­ity has set up three Mini Ten­nis coach­ing pro­grammes at both Bush­field and Wer­ring­ton Sports Cen­tres, start­ing on Mon­day June 14 – a week be­fore Wim­ble­don be­gins.

Ses­sions will be tar­geted at three age brack­ets - 4-7, 8-10 and 11 years and older. each ses­sion will be be­tween 45 min­utes and an hour in length. A six week course costs £20.

nicky McCready, Sports Devel­op­ment Of­fi­cer, said: “When Wim­ble­don starts, there is al­ways a flurry of in­ter­est in ten­nis, but by that time it can be too late to get on a course.

“This is a great op­por­tu­nity to book ahead and give your chil­dren the chance to play while Wim­ble­don is go­ing on and get them into this su­perb sport.

“And who knows, we may have an undis­cov­ered ten­nis star here in Peter­bor­ough.”
