Coaching courses for youngsters
TenniS in Peterborough is being given a push over the next few weeks with some great value coaching, just in time for Wimbledon.
Vivacity, Peterborough’s Culture and Leisure Trust, is giving children a chance to try tennis for the first time and an opportunity for those that already play to improve and develop their skills.
Vivacity has set up three Mini Tennis coaching programmes at both Bushfield and Werrington Sports Centres, starting on Monday June 14 – a week before Wimbledon begins.
Sessions will be targeted at three age brackets - 4-7, 8-10 and 11 years and older. each session will be between 45 minutes and an hour in length. A six week course costs £20.
nicky McCready, Sports Development Officer, said: “When Wimbledon starts, there is always a flurry of interest in tennis, but by that time it can be too late to get on a course.
“This is a great opportunity to book ahead and give your children the chance to play while Wimbledon is going on and get them into this superb sport.
“And who knows, we may have an undiscovered tennis star here in Peterborough.”
To book onto one of the courses contact Bushfield Sports Centre on 01733 234018 or Werrington Sports Centre on 01733 576606. Payment is required upon booking.
