Awareness campaign to tackle drugs
A WEEK-LONG sets of events is planned to try to reduce drug abuse in the city.
Peterborough Drugs Harm Reduction Week – Overdose is being organised by the Safer Peterborough Partnership as part of National Tackling Drugs Week starting from Monday.
Staff from city drugs agencies will wear red t-shirts displaying messages about the dangers of overdose as well as playing DVDs to drug users and their families about dangers of drug abuse, encouraging drug users to access treatment and giving resuscitation training.
Karen Kibblewhite, community safety and substance misuse manager for the Safer Peterborough Partnership, said: “By providing harm reduction messages to drug users we are able to reduce the impact of drug use on the whole community.
“It is fantastic to see all of our partners working together to deliver these crucial messages.”
