Group’s first anniversary
A SUPPORT group which offers help to servicemen and women in Peterborough has celebrated its first anniversary.
Combat Stress was set up by David and Cath Saunders, from Dogsthorpe, for people from the British armed forces and the Merchant Navy suffering from psychological disabilities.
Mr Saunders (60) was traumatised by the harrowing experiences of his 14year army stint in Northern Ireland.
He said: “Many people have benefitted from the group.”
They celebrated their first year with cake and a visit from the Mayor of Peterborough Keith Sharp. They meet on the first Tuesday of every month in Becket Chapel within the grounds of the cathedral, from 10am to 12pm.
