Group’s first an­niver­sary

A SUP­PORT group which of­fers help to ser­vice­men and women in Peter­bor­ough has cel­e­brated its first an­niver­sary.

Com­bat Stress was set up by David and Cath Saun­ders, from Dogsthorpe, for peo­ple from the Bri­tish armed forces and the Mer­chant Navy suf­fer­ing from psy­cho­log­i­cal dis­abil­i­ties.

Mr Saun­ders (60) was trau­ma­tised by the har­row­ing ex­pe­ri­ences of his 14year army stint in North­ern Ire­land.

He said: “Many peo­ple have ben­e­fit­ted from the group.”

They cel­e­brated their first year with cake and a visit from the Mayor of Peter­bor­ough Keith Sharp. They meet on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month in Becket Chapel within the grounds of the cathe­dral, from 10am to 12pm.
