The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Fashion -

DIG out your cocktail shaker and best heels and get into Cosmopolitan and Manolo Blahnik mode. Carrie and co are back and their wardrobes are more fabulous than ever.

With filming split between Morocco and the Big Apple, Sex And The City fashion fans are in for a double treat of contrasting styles, with New York city chic alongside exotic Eastern vacation glamour.

The fashionable four don’t let a thing like the desert get in the way of dressing to the nines... Sand dunes, camels and the searing heat are no obstacle for style-conscious Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte, who make their Middle East entrance in designer dresses and bling - and even stomp through the sand in teetering heels.

In new Headline book, Sex And The City 2: The Stories, stylist Patricia Field explains: “I had a lot of fun with this movie because it took us away on a magic vacation.

“We saw what was going to be our backdrop, and I was able to weave it into my fantasy of four girls from New York going over there in high style.”

You don’t need a Mr Big budget to bag the four girls designer looks, which featured labels like Halston (and lots of it), Christian Dior, Roberto Cavalli - and not forgetting Carrie’s shoe racks lined with Manolos and Louboutins galore.

Hit the high street for these SATC2 copycat finds and you’ll have a closet to rival Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte or Miranda in no time.

CARRIE CREATIVE

Married life as Mrs Big hasn’t toned down Carrie’s trademark kookiness. She takes to the desert in metallic turbans and punctuates block colour dresses with sparkling jewellery and clashing sky-high heels. Expect a nod to the past when Carrie’s iconic John Galliano for Dior newsprint dress gets a re-run 10 years on.

ACTRESS SARAH JESSICA PARKER SAYS: “There was a huge amount of beautiful dresses from the Halston archive that were long and simple, and they perfectly suited this very cinematic, very exotic, very colourful backdrop.”

GET THE LOOK: Ce Me London white Carrie dress, pictured right, £48; ; Forever Unique Leo newsprint dress, £130; Monsoon Paradise maxi dress, £200; Kendi Jewlz gold Clover necklace, £30.

CHARLOTTE CHIC

SAMANTHA SEXY

What else could you expect from Samantha but sexpot chic? The singleton makes her style impact in uber-bright colours and slinky silhouettes to catch potential suitors eyes. And whether par-tying with the girls or sunbathing, she piles on the glitz with shimmering metallics and statement embellished pieces.

ACTRESS KIM CATTRALL SAYS: “The costumes are so colourful and over the top. But this time, there are fewer huge, chunky earrings and rings for Samantha.”

ACTRESS KRISTIN DAVIS SAYS: “I love Charlotte’s taste because it’s a little more conservative. I wear a Dior suit at the beginning of the movie - perfectly Charlotte and perfectly wonderful.”

ACTRESS CYNTHIA NIXON SAYS: “Miranda has the money for the haircut and the clothes and the shoes and the bag, and I think you can see it on her.”
