Who would have thought a remake of a Swedish crime drama would become one of the most acclaimedTV offerings of recent years? However, Kenneth Branagh’s take on this series left Bafta judges rubbing their hands with glee. Fans of the saga shouldn’t miss this version, which proves just as compelling. Given that it’s made in Sweden, with a Swedish cast, who speak Swedish, it’s as authentically Swedish as an Ikea sideboard. In the latest offering, the owner of a successful cider business is brutally murdered, and when suspicion falls on his family and employees, secrets from his past are unveiled.
Usain Bolt: The Fastest Man Who Has Ever Lived (BBC1, 12.15pm)
Michael Johnson profiles the Jamaican athlete, travelling to his homeland to learn Bolt’s story first-hand from those who know him best. He discovers what effect being in the international media spotlight has had on the 23-year-old, who in 2009 became the first man to hold the 100m and 200m world and Olympic titles at the same time.
