Here’s how to make the most of the great out­doors

WHAT have Skegness, Bos­ton and Stam­ford got in com­mon with Corn­wall and North York­shire? Not to men­tion France, Ger­many and Italy.

The an­swer: They’re just a few of the desti­na­tions where Crow­land Car­a­vans and Camp­ing has de­liv­ered its prod­ucts.

And now the firm, which is at the rear of Crow­land Gar­den Cen­tre, Post­land Road, is or­gan­is­ing an open day to throw the spot­light on its huge range of tents, car­a­vans and ac­ces­sories.

The event is sched­uled for Satur­day, June 19 from 10am to 5pm, when rep­re­sen­ta­tives from

The Outwell Mon­tana is just one of a range of tents avail­able from Crow­land Car­a­vans and Camp­ing. some of the man­u­fac­tur­ers will be present and spe­cial deals on of­fer. Re­fresh­ments will also be avail­able dur­ing the day.

Crow­land Car­a­vans and Camp­ing has been op­er­at­ing for the last 10 years and most of its dozen em­ploy­ees have been with the com­pany since it be­gan.

These days there’s a to­tal of 70 tents on dis­play on the four-acre site – 50 out­doors and a fur­ther 20 in­side.

They are priced from £39 to £2,000plus, the lat­ter com­ing from the only re­main­ing Euro­pean man­u­fac­turer of tents.

“It’s made from polyester-cot­ton, it’s very well en­gi­neered and quick to as­sem­ble – it can be erected in 20 min­utes – and can sleep six com­fort­ably,” said Matthew Al­cock, owner of the fam­ily-run Crow­land Car­a­vans and Camp­ing. “We have one of the biggest dis­plays in East Anglia,” he added.

Tents stocked in­clude two of the lead­ing makes – Outwell andVango, with a fur­ther six man­u­fac­tur­ers’ prod­ucts on dis­play.
