Enjoy World Cup in great outdoors

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

A PUB in Peterborough will give England fans the opportunity to watch the World Cup on the banks of the River Nene.

Charters Bar, off Town Bridge, claims it has the largest beer garden in the city centre, which will provide the perfect backdrop for fans to watch the tournament.

It will be showing live coverage on a number of High Definition (HD) screens in its all weather marquee, complete with its own outdoor bar and barbecue.

Manager Hugh Sherwood said: “We are very excited about the tournament and we are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to our venue.

“We will be serving a selection of world beers alongside our usual selection of award winning real ales, and we will be striking up our BBQ. Here’s hoping that England can go all the way.”

The garden is expected to be packed out on Saturday, when England go head-to-head with the USA in their first match.

The match will be followed by live music, with sets from Jack Daw and Fuel for the Fire, while the acoustic set inside will start at 9pm with Double Penetration.
