Five-a-day - there’s an iPhone app for it

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Your -

I AM writing to let your readers know about our brand new iPhone application, the Wheel of Portion.

To celebrate our Fruity Friday campaign we at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) have created an iPhone app with a Wheel of Fortune-style spinning wheel that measures the portion size of different fruits and vegetables.

The app is the ultimate pocket resource to help you get your five a day even when you are on the go.

The app also includes preparation guides, nutritional information, access to 60 tasty, healthy recipes and a BMI checker to measure body fat.

Scientists estimate that a third of the most common cancers could be prevented by following a healthy diet, which includes at least five portions of fruits and vegetables a day, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight.

The app is available from the iTunes store for £1.19, which includes a donation to WCRF. We have 25 apps to giveaway to the first 25 readers who call 0207 343 4205 and quote ‘media’. For more information about the WCRF app, visit www.wcrfuk.org/wheel TERESA NIGHTINGALE
