Holbeach are staying in the Premier Division
HOLBEACH have received a United Counties League Premier Division reprieve.
The Tigers, who were demoted to Division One after failing to meet the required groundgrading, have been handed a rapid return to the top-flight.
Holbeach will step back up after Stotfold left the Premier Division to join the Spartan South Midlands League.
An official UCL statement said: “In accordance with the league rules, Stotfold’s resignation means that they are deemed to have taken the place of one of the ‘relegated’ clubs, hence Holbeach United will now retain their place in the Premier Division for season 2010-11 as they were the highest placed of the two clubs previously identified for relegation.”
Holbeach had failed to manage the required ‘F’ ground grading due to not having a hardstanding surface all the way around their Carters Park pitch by the March 31 deadline.
But work to install that has now been carried out.
