School­girl hurt in ac­ci­dent cross­ing road

A SCHOOL­GIRL is in hos­pi­tal af­ter a col­li­sion with a car.

It is un­der­stood the 15-yearold pedes­trian was walk­ing home from the Voy­ager School in Mountsteven Av­enue, Wal­ton, Peter­bor­ough at around 4.24pm yes­ter­day when she was in­volved in an ac­ci­dent with the ve­hi­cle in Lin­coln Road.

Emer­gency ser­vices in­clud­ing an am­bu­lance were called to the scene and the girl, who hasn’t been named by po­lice, was taken to Peter­bor­ough District Hos­pi­tal.

A spokesper­son from the East of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice said: “We were called to Lin­coln Road at 4.24pm fol­low­ing re­ports of an in­ci­dent in­volv­ing a pedes­trian and a ve­hi­cle.

“Paramedics on the scene took a 15-year-old girl to hos­pi­tal who was com­plain­ing of back pain.

“It is not thought her in­juries were se­ri­ous.”

The ac­ci­dent brought heavy de­lays to the area and one lane of the road was closed for around 40 min­utes.
