Schoolgirl hurt in accident crossing road
A SCHOOLGIRL is in hospital after a collision with a car.
It is understood the 15-yearold pedestrian was walking home from the Voyager School in Mountsteven Avenue, Walton, Peterborough at around 4.24pm yesterday when she was involved in an accident with the vehicle in Lincoln Road.
Emergency services including an ambulance were called to the scene and the girl, who hasn’t been named by police, was taken to Peterborough District Hospital.
A spokesperson from the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Lincoln Road at 4.24pm following reports of an incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
“Paramedics on the scene took a 15-year-old girl to hospital who was complaining of back pain.
“It is not thought her injuries were serious.”
The accident brought heavy delays to the area and one lane of the road was closed for around 40 minutes.
