Farms set to open their gates for free
TWO farms will be opening their gates for free for people to learn more about where their food comes from.
Pigeons Farm and Park Farm, in Thorney, will be holding the Open Farm Sunday this weekend.
Park Farm is not usually open to the public, while visitors to Pigeons Farm normally have to pay entry fees of £5.50 adult and £4.50 children.
During the free event, Park Farm will host a variety of vintage tractors, a farmers’ market and give people the chance to pick their own potatoes from the fields.
At Pigeons Farm, visitors can have a tour around the animals with Farmer Bob as well as take part in activities during the day like egg-collecting and bottle-feeding the lambs.
They can also watch cows being milked and butter-making demonstrations.
For more information about the event, call Pigeons Farm, in Wisbech Road, Thorney on 01733 271020 or 01733 271414.
