A rigorous audition process
TO secure her place at AADA, Ellie was put under the spotlight of a rigorous audition.
After filling in a lengthy questionnaire, Ellie went along to an audition at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London where she performed two pieces – playing Nora in Sean O Casey’s The Plough And The Stars and playing Susan in Stephen Poliakoff’s City Sugar.
Ellie’s tough audition was rounded off with a lengthy interview where she was quizzed about her ambitions and dreams.
Founded in 1884, the AADA in Madison Avenue celebrated its 125th anniversary last year.
From its inception, it has attracted talented and committed students from around the world to its acting school in New York and, since 1974, to its acting school in Los Angeles.
Throughout its history, AADA faculty has been among the most progressive theatrical theorists and visionaries of their day.
