SEVEn for­mer chem­i­cal com­pany ex­ec­u­tives were yes­ter­day con­victed of “death by neg­li­gence” for their roles in the Bhopal gas tragedy that killed 15,000 peo­ple more than 25 years ago in the world’s worst in­dus­trial dis­as­ter. Their firm, Union Car­bide In­dia Ltd., was con­victed of the same charge. But the com­pany no longer ex­ists.
