Boy head over wheels for his new bike

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

BIG-HEARTED shop owners put the smile back on the face of a city schoolboy by replacing his stolen bike with a brand new one.

After reading of how Jake Bishop (12) had had his beloved BMX bike pinched by thieves, co-owner of Cotton TV, Dennis Cotton, was moved to help.

Mr Cotton, who runs a TV and video rental business in Oundle Road, Peterborough, even went as far as buying an exact replica of the bike.

Jake’s mum Jacqueline, of Ellindon, Bretton, was touched by the gesture.

She had appealed in the ET for the return of her son’s bike, which was stolen as he played with friends at Bretton skate park on May 25.

She said: “I’m gobsmacked. There are some really nice people out there. It’s restored my faith in human nature.”
