Bridging the gap

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Hobson's Choice -

AS one of the busiest stretches of road in the city there won’t be many of you who don’t recognise this bridge. It may have changed a little in appearance over the years, but this is Town Bridge, stretching over the River Nene. Now it’s surrounded by swans, flats and restaurants, but what was around it when this picture was taken? Were the swans still there, or are they newer arrivals? I’m guessing this image was taken in the 1930s, but I may be wrong.
