Inspired to be the best in potatoes
QV Foods is a leading supplier of fresh and prepared potatoes and vegetables.
wholly owned subsidiary of its parent company, AH Worth – a family business based in Lincolnshire – QV operates from four purpose-built factories at two industryleading sites – one near Holbeach, which includes its head office, and another at March.
In the last two years, QV has transformed itself from the traditional, family-owned packer of fresh potatoes for the multiple retail sector into a very different entity.
This started with the acquisition of MBM Potatoes in 2009, which gained QV a foothold
the processing and food service sectors and also opened the group up to a wider network of retail customers.
The QV fresh potato business has grown by 50 per cent since that purchase, and
switch in strategic focus has also seen rapid expansion in its processed potato and vegetables business, and a recent move into pre-packed fruit.
Unusually for the UK fresh produce industry, QV has also invested heavily in brands and, with the backing of Gregg Wallace, of MasterChef fame, the Inspire brand now sells more than 500,000 packs a week in the UK.
A new Inspire Best of British New Potatoes brand has just been launched, to further position QV as the champion of British potatoes and British potato growers.
Also in May, QV Foods was selected by a panel of industry peers as the Re: fresh Processor of the Year, an award given to the UK’s outstanding processor of fresh fruit or vegetables.
